“Wealth That Matters® to me is both defining what my family and I value and always striving to integrate that into our lives in different ways.”

Colin brings a unique blend of financial expertise and creative problem-solving to the Support Advisor role at Vestia Personal Wealth Advisors. Before entering the financial industry, Colin spent time honing his craft in the culinary world, working as a Sous Chef for AAA 4 Diamond restaurant Joseph Decuis and interning at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Chicago. Colin’s background in hospitality shaped his dedication to excellence and personalized service—a philosophy he now brings to financial planning.

Outside of work, Colin enjoys spending summers gardening or landscaping, serving as his family’s personal chef, and traveling to new destinations with his wife, Marissa, and their 2.5-year-old daughter, Olive. Colin is also active in his community through First Presbyterian Church where he recently volunteered for Project 216 to support hurricane relief efforts. At the core of Colin’s approach is the concept of servant leadership, a principle he embraced in high school and continues to embody. With prior experience in mortgages, banking, and investments, Colin is excited to build meaningful relationships with clients and the Vestia team while leveraging his skills to help physicians achieve their Wealth That Matters®.

When did you realize you were interested in finance?

My grandma would say it was when I was 5 or 6 years old because I was always volunteering to play the banker in Monopoly. My younger self may say elementary school when I ran the cash register for the school store. My adult self would say the interest has always been there, but my “Aha!” moment of how powerful and rewarding a career in finance could be, was realized when I helped someone fully retire last year.

What is the most important thing you have learned about helping other people?

It’s very easy to want to help or try to help someone but from the context of what you think is helpful to them. I think the most important thing about helping people, and leading towards the most impact, is removing my subjective view of whatever the situation is to try to understand what will really help that person from their point of view.

One of Vestia’s values is to model Wealth that Matters®. What does this mean to you?

Wealth That Matters to me is both defining what my family and I value and always striving to integrate that into our lives in different ways. What we value the most is creating a loving and supportive environment for our daughter, spending time working on our health and hobbies, and traveling to both new and familiar places to make lasting memories to look back on.
