“To me Wealth that Matters® is about creating connection with the things that matter the most. Primarily that’s having the time, space, and energy to give my best to the people I love.”
Rebecca has 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry serving in a variety of roles. Her favorite role so far is as Executive Assistant to Lauren Oschman. She helps Lauren’s time and energy go further by taking care of scheduling, email, and administration so that Lauren can dedicate her time to her clients and foster her creative innovation at the helm of the company.
When Rebecca isn’t at work, she loves to find a spot under a tree in a park, spread out a blanket and relax in the shade with a good book and her dog Phoebe Waller-Bridge. You can also occasionally find her competing in pinball tournaments on the weekend.
What is the most important thing you have learned about helping other people?
I think the most important thing about helping others is to acknowledge that good intentions don’t take us very far. It’s easy to jump to conclusions and assume our best try will do the trick. But sometimes that can lead us to hurt more than help. It’s important to slow down and listen in order to understand who the person we’re trying to help is, what they’re facing, and how we can best lend a hand.
What book do you always tell people they should read? Why?
One of the best books ever written is Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. It’s a reflection from an author on what it means to live creatively, really to be creative as a human. Many of us approach a creative undertaking with a bit of dread, and this book gave me the perspective and freedom to be less serious about it and have a little more fun.
One of Vestia’s values is to model Wealth that Matters®. What does this mean to you?
To me, Wealth That Matters® is about creating connection with the things that matter the most. Primarily, that’s having the time, space, and energy to give my very best to the people I love, especially my many nieces and nephews! It’s also having space to be in nature and explore creative pursuits. No one is guaranteed tomorrow, so what we choose to do every day really does matter!
