I live by the motto, “You can’t take it with you when you go”. So, wealth that matters means always investing… not necessarily in the stock market, but using wealth to invest in your health, in your family, in your community, in your church, in your legacy.

Reis started his career in finance in a part-time role at a bank during college. That led to a position at a local financial planning firm helping new retirees build successful retirement plans. He quickly became well versed in portfolios, life insurance, health insurance, retirement plans, and tax planning and loved every minute! These positions laid the groundwork for the rest of his career as he realized how much he loved serving people and their financial needs. At Vestia, Reis’s hard work can save precious time that physicians can spend with their loved ones rather than tending to their finances.

When he is not in the office, Reis is likely out being active – he enjoys weightlifting, biking, and taking walks with his wife, Brittan, and young daughter, Winnie. He is also an avid golfer – his favorite golf course is Arcadia Bluffs in Northern Michigan which he plays on family vacation every summer.

One of Vestia’s values is to model “wealth that matters.” What does this mean to you?

“Wealth That Matters” to me means being a great steward of what God has blessed us with. I live by the motto, “You can’t take it with you when you go”. So, “wealth that matters” means using wealth to invest in your health, in your family, in your community, in your church, in your legacy. We won’t be remembered by what we say, but instead by what we do. When we quote historic figures, we quote their words because their words were proven through their actions. We should be continually investing in someone or something and allowing our actions to be louder than our words.

When did you first realize you were interested in finance?
My first job in finance was as a part time teller at a local bank branch in college. Just a year later, I had been promoted several times before and soon became the branch’s full time Personal Banker, opening and servicing accounts and personal loans for customers. It was here I first grasped my love for serving people and their financial needs.
What is your favorite part of what you do at Vestia?
I have always had a knack for numbers, math came easy to me as a student, and I always dreamed of a career that utilized my natural strengths with my love of serving people. I believe financial planning is my true calling in life, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I take great pride in my work. Serving my clients is both a wonderful privilege and a great responsibility that I do not take lightly.
